Background To The Soundtrack
The official release of Lol Hammond and Duncan Forbes' original soundtrack to Ronnie Thompson's 2017 film, "The Hatton Garden Job".
Lol was approached by Ronnie Thompson to music supervise his film version of the story of the Hatton Garden diamond heist. He had stayed with me a few weeks before and we had written a few tracks based around 3 piano piece ideas that Lol had.
Although we had been signed to the same label, toured a lot in different bands on the same bill and DJ'd together loads this was the first time we had actually written music together. He played Ronnie the tunes and Ronnie just said, why don't you do some music for the film then... So we did.
The music was recorded over two main sessions and then I set about mixing it all down and I think we delivered in all around 20 tracks, most of which ended up on the film. Lol brought the incredibly talented Louis Vann Johnson in for vocals on the funk tracks and he delivered amazing vocals on every track we sent him.
