Sorry Kids We Left You With A Black Sun. Single
Background
Wednesday 13th May saw the release of a new single from Lol Hammond and Duncan Forbes via the Sparkle Jar label through !K7 records.
It's the first glimpse into the soul of Duncan and Lol’s follow-up to 'Days Without End' and comes in the striking and prophetic shape of 'Sorry Kids We Left You A Black Sun'.
This powerful introduction to forthcoming LP - 'Who Will Stop The Robots' - welcomes back Eva Abraham in the first of four carefully curated album tracks to be drip-fed ahead of its July 2020 release.
The song is a warning - a wake-up call for humanity - and delivers it’s clear message through spaced-out vocals, swirling guitars and sub-licked, 808 rhythms. In doing so it also introduces us to the duo's vibrant new sound, one that explores their love of The Cocteau Twins, Spiritualized and Slowdive, as much as it does electronic heroes like Basic Channel, Floating Points and the ambient work of Brian Eno and Harold Budd.
You can preview and buy 'Sorry Kids We Left You A Black Sun' and it’s sheer wall of sound, right now, via Spotify, Apple Music, and all the usual online platforms.
